Guide

Hire someone to build your website

What a professionally built website costs, how long it takes, and how to tell a solid provider from a risky one — plus dedicated pages for the regions we work in.

Most people searching for someone to build a website have already decided not to do it themselves. Two questions remain: what it costs, and who to trust with it.

Compare proposals by scope, ongoing costs, revisions and handover. At SpiderWeb Studio you work directly with Shajith Sridaran. We agree the binding scope and account access before starting.

Below: realistic price ranges, the process step by step, the questions worth asking any provider, and regional pages for Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the UK, the US and remote work worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does it cost to have a website built?

Launch starts at CHF 500, Professional at CHF 800 and Signature at CHF 1,300. Custom projects start at CHF 2,000. Extras and monthly care are itemised separately. The binding proposal and invoicing are in CHF.

  • How long does it take?

Your website is ready within one week after payment and receipt of the agreed content and access. Delayed feedback or additional requests move the completion date. We publish only after your approval.

  • Should I use a website builder instead?

A builder makes sense if the site is a business card and you have time to spare. Once the site needs to generate enquiries, a built solution wins on speed, structure and search foundations.

  • How do I tell a good provider from a bad one?

Four questions: is the price fixed or hourly, do you own the domain and hosting afterwards, do you see the site before it goes public, and is there a reachable person after launch?

  • Do you work with clients outside Switzerland?

Yes. We work online in German or English, with a focus on small Swiss businesses. International projects are possible. The binding offer is in CHF.

  • Do I own the finished site?

Completely. Domain, content, hosting and every credential are handed over at launch, with no lock-in.
